Q: Are your animals completely grass fed?
A. Yes, our animals are 100% grass-fed and grass-finished.
Q: What are my choices for local butcher shops?
A: We use Willowside Meats in Santa Rosa and/or Bud’s Custom Meats in Penngrove for our bulk orders.
Q: Where do we pick up our bulk meat?
A: You pick up your meat from one of the local butcher shops that we send the beef to. If you purchase a whole animal and want to use another butcher shop, we will do our best to make it work for you.
Q: Can I pay for my cut and wrap fees at the same time I pay for my beef?
A: Since the butcher cuts and wraps your meat, it works best to pay the butcher shop directly when you pick up your order. The total cost of the cut & wrap will vary depending on the type of packaging you request and the carcass (hanging) weight of the animal you purchase.
Q: Will you deliver?
A: Depending on your location, the meat order can be delivered. There is an extra delivery charge that varies on your location.
Q: How is the meat packaged?
A: The meat is frozen and you have a choice between paper and vacuum-seal packaging to ensure the ultimate freshness. The butcher shop will contact you about your preference.
Q: How much freezer space do I need?
A. A quarter of a beef takes about 4 cubic feet of freezer space. One cubic foot is the size of a milk crate.
Q: How long will the beef last in my freezer?
A: The meat will last approximately one year in your freezer.
Q: How much of each type of meat will I get with a quarter of beef?
A: In a quarter of beef, you will get approximately:
- 20-25% steaks
- 20-25% roasts
- 40-45% ground beef
- 10-15% short ribs, stew meat, soup bones etc.
Q: What happens if I am not happy with my order?
A: If for any reason you are unhappy with your order, please contact us and we will be happy to accommodate you.
Q: Can I purchase individual cuts of meat?
A: Unfortunately, we are not offering individual cuts for sale at the moment.
